Most of the members of my family are in the Verizon network and they like to stay up on technology and own the newest and latest phones. Since they are not using anything which could be considered outdated, I get to try out a lot of new phones that the company offers to their customers.

My aunt owns the Verizon LG VX8700, which she just got recently, and she allowed me to use her phone for two days when I had lost mine and needed to buy a new one. I must say that this is probably one of the best cellular phones that Verizon offers because of the fact that it provides a great value for the low price. She paid just $65, which is a lot less then most cell phones and I found the look to be a lot better than any of the other Verizon phones that were available in the store. It is not packed with features but the things that it does are done very well which I enjoyed.

The phone is a square shape and about five inches tall which means that you can pick it up and go whenever you need it. The phone is a nice silver color, which looks amazing in person, and thankfully it does not scratch in your pocket or when you drop it.

The one thing I did not like is that the external LCD screen is done in a strip style so that it runs down the face of the phone. The reason I do not like the screen is because of the fact that it was hard to see images and I could not see who was calling without actually opening the phone, which I found to be annoying. However, the fact that this phone is about 1/4 inch thicker than the Razr phone is something I loved because everyone that was around me noticed the phone when I took it out of my pocket. Another thing I did not like was the fact that you need to control the music inside the phone, which means that if you close the phone you have no control over the music, which I would have liked. However, it has a micro SD slot so that you can put a memory card with up to 4GB storage in the phone, which will allow you to store all your photos and music, which I found to be great.

Best of all, the phone has a very nice camera, which is 2.0 MP, which takes very nice pictures. They are some of the sharpest pictures that I have ever taken with a cell phone. It also has a camcorder and I was able to record clips of up to 60, which looked great. I wished you could record for a longer period but I enjoyed this feature. The talk time is 3.5 hours and I was able to get very good reception on this phone and the speakerphone quality was decent.
